About

A foot in technology.
A foot in business.

I’m Michael Postiglione, a Product Manager at Databricks in San Francisco. I like bringing clarity to difficult, ambiguous problems.

What I work on

I work on observability across Databricks’ product lines. I help teams understand what their data systems are doing, why they’re doing it, and when something breaks.

Moving large amounts of data is hard. The systems are deeply technical, and the work spans product lines and engineering teams. My job is to make sense of different requirements and turn them into products that solve customer problems.

How I got here

I studied electrical and computer engineering and biomedical engineering at Duke University. I later earned an MBA in strategy, finance, and entrepreneurship from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

My work has included marketing and ad tech, product management at AWS, and P&L ownership at Procter & Gamble and Amazon retail. Each role offered a different view of how products get built and how businesses make decisions.

Away from the desk

Outside my day job, I try new tools, build things I think are useful, and write about business and technology. I also enjoy cycling, finding good food, and spending time outdoors.

Get in touch

I’m interested in thoughtful conversations about product, business, and technology. Email is the best way to reach me.
